Parking now easier at QEII

People visiting the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie now have an easier way to pay for parking.

A new parking app has been launched by Alberta Health Services [AHS].

People can download the free AHS Parking app from the App Store and Google Play.

The AHS Parking app allows visitors and patients to pay for parking using their mobile devices. It also allows them to receive alerts when their parking time is about to expire and extend or stop their parking without having to go back to a meter.

AHS developed the app in response to visitors and patients who told AHS they wanted a more convenient way to pay for parking at AHS sites, especially in the cold winter months or for times when they are unsure how long their hospital visit may last.

AHS also encourages the use of the AHS parking app as a contactless option when paying for parking during the coronavirus pandemic to help stop the spread of the virus.

Public parking rates using the app are the same as found on AHS parking meters.

Coins and cash are still accepted at AHS parking meters and parking offices in Alberta.
