PIC – Money for park

The High Prairie Royal Purple Elks presented a cheque to the High Prairie Community Beautification Association on May 25 to upgrade MacIntyre Park in downtown High Prairie. Honoured Royal Lady Colleen Greer, middle, presents the cheque of $500 to beautification treasurer Mary Burgar, left, and vice-president Trish Long, who initiated the project to upgrade the park. A gazebo, a table with a chess and checker board, a long bench, and several trees to attract bees and butterflies are planned for the park. Work is scheduled to be completed in time for the community to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017.
