POPS Home Hardware entered a float that included their mascot, Handy the Hound Dog, and a western theme. With Handy are Nicole Peyre, left, and Carys Graham behind the “fierce” bull.
Once again, thousands of people lined the streets of High Prairie for the annual Elks Pro Rodeo Parade Aug. 2. This year’s parade certainly lived up to its billing as “The Biggest Little Parade in the Peace” as dozens of entries wound their way through downtown. Decorations may have been slightly down this year, but spirit was high. Parade winners were not available at press time and will be published when received.
High Prairie trick riders strutted their stuff along the parade route. Kensie Herben, left, and Mackenzie Calhoon later performed to the delight of the audience at the rodeo.
Perhaps the most eye-popping float was the EC Bar Ranch Adventures float, complete with a huge plastic ball with people inside. At the back of the float is Tamara Kleinschmager.
