Robbery at HP Esso Saturday morning – **UPDATE**

High Prairie RCMP are looking for a male suspect in relation to a robbery at the High Prairie Esso gas station and convenience store Jan. 25.

Cpl. Curtis Peters, RCMP Media Relations Group, says the robbery occurred at about 6 a.m. when a male entered the store and brandished a long-armed firearm [rifle].

“An undisclosed amount of cash was taken,” says Peters.

No one was harmed in the robbery.

Peters says the man was wearing a black ski mask, hooded jacket and jeans and therefore difficult to identify. He is about 5’10” tall. It is believed he left in a van but surveillance tape will be checked to confirm.

South Peace News was informed of a robbery at gunpoint at the HP Esso store early Saturday morning.

High Prairie RCMP are currently on the scene as of 7:30 a.m.

South Peace News will try to confirm details of the robbery and get more details as the day progresses.
