Mrs. Claus and the elves were all smiles during the 2012 Santa Claus Parade. Even snow couldn’t put a chill on festivities.

It’s hard to believe the Santa Claus Parade enters its 12th year in High Prairie in 2016.
But a dozen years wonderful years it is!
The dream of High Prairie resident Anne Bankey keeps growing little by little each year. Two years ago saw 14 entries and last year a record 16 entries to please hundreds of people along the parade route.
Interest continues to grow.
“I’m hoping it will be bigger and better,” says Bankey. “The interest is good.”
The parade begins at 6:45 p.m. at the old water treatment plant. Anyone wanting to enter is asked to just show up at 6:30 p.m. No entry fee, just join the fun! Participants are only asked to bring their float and a ton of community spirit.
Bankey decided to organize the first parade and has been its driving force since its inception.
She reminds everyone to please – absolutely! – do not toss candy or other items from floats.
Bankey appreciates the effort every entrant makes each year, as does the High Prairie Community Beautification Association.
