The Sucker Creek Women’s Emergency Shelter recently received generous donations from two High Prairie financial institutions. ATB Financial presented a cheque for $2,000 from its Community and Social Development Program to buy new kitchen furniture for a second-stage housing. The TD Canada Trust branch contributed $1,000 to the Sucker Creek Women’s Shelter to provide children with recreation equipment. Funds from the TD Play program supported the children. TD Canada Trust branch manager Jennifer Zatko, says POPS Home Hardware staff went above and beyond the call of duty in pricing items, which allowed the bank to buy more items than usual. POPS also provided discounts on other items. “Without their support [the donation] to the Sucker Creek Women’s Shelter wouldn’t have been as plentiful,” says Zatko.
